Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor, who has appeared on film and TV, and in stage productions, is known for playing Teri Joseph, a fiery attorney in the show on Showtime called Soul Food. Contractor who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning seven, had traveled around across the globe and lived through diverse cultures when he was a kid. She was educated in a boarding-school in London between 7 and 9. Later, her family was relocated from London in Toronto, Canada. Contractor achieved academic success in Toronto and also trained as the ballerina. She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a fine arts institution that focuses on theater and dance. Contractor started acting at the age of 16, following nearly 10 years of dance. Following a semester at the University, Contractor went to an open call audition for the production Pericles in the highly regarded famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the role of lead. After the show ran for 92 times, she was rewarded with glowing reviews. The play was deemed the best production by Canadian reviewers. Contractor accepted the invitation to join Stratford's Conservatory. The Conservatory has only 8 men and four females are admitted for the 20-week course in the classical theatre. Her place was guaranteed in the next series of plays, and she landed Hermia's part as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
